Colonial has materialized nuevainversión in the office sector with the purchase of 10.4 million euros investment in a building owned by the SAREB-the bad bank where nationalized banks transferred their property assets dañados-, which houses the headquarters of Gallina Blanca and is located in Plaza Europa in L'Hospitalet, expanding business district which has excellent connections to the city center and the airport.


The property has an area above ground of 4,869 square meters of office space and 68 parking spaces. It is a newly built complex, distributed in ground floor plus four floors. The property is occupied entirely by Gallina Blanca, Spanish multinational company in the food sector and founded in 1937 with a presence in over 70 countries.


With this acquisition, Colonial incorporates its client a new tenant with a long-term and sets foot in a business area of Barcelona in the consolidation phase. Since the recapitalization of Colonial in May 2014, which ushered Juan Miguel Villar Mir as the largest shareholder, with 20% of the capital, the group has invested heavily indebted to release assets and new acquisitions for more than 370 million euros.
Last December, the Société Foncière Lyonnaise (SFL), a subsidiary of Colonial Group, materialized the purchase of an office building in the 9th district of Paris for a total amount of 230 million euros.


The de Gallina Blanca is not the only asset that has broken the bad bank. The entity has chairing by Belén Romana managed by Blackstone sold a portfolio of 39 delinquent loans with a nominal value of 237 million euros funds. This portfolio, called Aneto is guaranteed with 29 completed residential developments and land finalists distributed throughout the Spanish geography, mainly in Valencia, Madrid and Galicia. "These sales reflect the dynamism of business in society and the appreciation that their assets are in the market" notes Jaime Echegoyen, CEO of the company. "And confirm the ability of the organization to successfully accomplish the mission entrusted to him," added.


In the last month of the year, SAREB has managed to close several successful sales transactions of loan portfolios and real estate, valued at more than 1,000 million euros. The award of Aneto must be added the sale of four other packages of assets.
