GE's real estate portfolio has a worth of about US $ 30,000 million in office buildings, apartment complexes and other commercial properties. The company is in talks with Blackstone and Wells Fargo considering various parts of the portfolio.
At the moment the exact terms of the deal are unknown as much as the total sum of the transaction, but it looks like it would be "high" and "very representative", added the same sources.
The real estate business of GE Capital concerns investors which believe that such transaction may be of too much risk for the company.
